WEST COAST WILDERNESS LODGE WAS BUILT AT THE CROSSROADS OF FOUR MAJOR WATERWAYS: SECHELT INLET, JERVIS INLET, HOTHAM SOUND AND AGAMEMNON CHANNEL. EACH HAS THOUSANDS OF ISLANDS, BAYS AND COVES FOR VISITORS TO EXPLORE.
Kayak Experiences
CHOOSE FROM A VARIETY OF GUIDED KAYAKING ADVENTURES, FROM PEACEFUL SUNSET PADDLES AND WILDLIFE ENCOUNTERS TO WATERFALL EXCURSIONS IN HOTHAM SOUND AND SCENIC TOURS OF SECHELT INLET.

Sechelt Inlet – Unguided
Sechelt Inlet offers calm waters, stunning scenery, and a rich coastal history—making it an ideal spot for both beginner and experienced kayakers.
Duration: half-day or full-day options
Over 350 km of mostly uninhabited coastline, forested slopes, and historic fishing villages to explore.
Sheltered waters with minimal waves—perfect for developing paddling skills.
All rentals include kayak, paddle, PFD, throw bag, and flotation device.
Kayak rentals require a skill assessment and a trip itinerary; inquire for overnight availability.

Inlets Kayak Trip – Guided
Discover the beauty and wildlife of Sechelt Inlet on a guided kayaking tour tailored to the tides and your skill level.
Duration: 2 hours
Highlights:
Paddle the calm, protected waters surrounding the Sutton Islands and Egmont’s scenic coastline.
Routes vary by tide—explore historic sites, eagle nests, and sea star colonies.
Visit a playful seal colony near the Lodge, where curious seals often swim alongside your kayak.

Sunset Kayak Trip – Guided
Experience the magic of paddling beneath the stars on a peaceful sunset kayaking tour.

Share the serene experience with friends and family while watching for marine life.
Keep an eye out for the enchanting sparkle of phosphorescence (not guaranteed).

Hotham Sound Tour – Guided
Paddle through the spectacular Hotham Sound on a full-day guided kayaking adventure—perfect for all skill levels.

Scenic boat transfer across Jervis Inlet to warm, sheltered waters of Hotham Sound.
Kayak to the towering 1,400-foot Freil Falls, the tallest free-standing waterfall between BC and Alaska.
